How much does a tattoo cost?

Tattoo prices are based on the size, complexity and physical placement of the design.  It is best to come to the shop and speak with us in person when inquiring about tattoo prices.  We can not price tattoos over the phone and it can be difficult to have the conversation via email although exceptions will be made for patrons visiting us from out of state.

Do I need to make an appointment and if so, how?

An appointment is not always necessary.  Some smaller, one session tattoos can easily be completed as a walk-in. If you are planning on a larger custom piece that will require some drawing time it is always best to schedule an appointment. We ask that clients schedule appointments in person at the shop, or over the  phone. All appointments require a $40 deposit to hold a time slot.  This is a non-refundable deposit that will be applied to the final cost of the tattoo. We cannot book appointments through email, although we are happy to answer your emails.  WE DO NOT BOOK APPOINTMENTS THROUGH EMAIL.

How should I take care of my new tattoo?

Remove bandage after 1-3 hours or longer according to your artist's instructions.  Gently rinse tattoo with warm water and carefully wash with a fragrance free, anti-bacterial liquid soap.  Do not scrub the tattoo. Carefully pat tattoo dry with a clean paper towel.  Let the area air dry for 30 minutes before applying a thin layer of Aquaphor ointment.  Do not use Neosporin, Bacitracin, A&D, Vaseline, etc..  Continue to wash & apply ointment 2-3 times daily for the next 3 days.  Around the third day the tattoo will begin to peel slightly.  This is perfectly normal.  At this point, begin using a gentle non-scented lotion such as Curel, Lubriderm, Eucern, Aveeno, etc..  Continue to do this twice a day for two weeks.  While your new tattoo is healing do not pick at the area or scratch it.  Do not soak the tattoo and avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks.  If you have any questions or concerns about how your tattoo is healing please feel free to call or visit the shop.

Do I need an appointment for a consultation?

You do not need an appointment for a consultation. There is always someone available at the shop to discuss the tattoo you are interested in, answer questions about pricing and to help schedule an appointment with the artist you wish to work with.

How old do I have to be to be tattooed or pierced?

If you are 18 or older we only require a state issued ID, driver's license or passport.  The state of New Jersey allows minors to be tattooed or pierced with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.  The parent or guardian must accompany the minor to the tattoo parlor.  The minor must have a photo ID.  This can be a school, city or state issued ID.  We will also need the minor's birth certificate.  The parent or guardian accompanying the minor must have valid ID connecting them to the birth certificate.

What is your piercing protocol?

Our piercer is fully trained and certified in Blood Bourne Pathogen Control and the prevention of cross contamination.  She has also completed courses in phlebotomy, medical assisting, lab technology and CPR. All needles and piercing tools are properly disinfected and sterilized in a hospital grade autoclave and work surfaces are thoroughly sanitized using a high end disinfectant solution.  All piercings are done using a single-use surgical grade hollow needle and properly disposed of immediately after.  We DO NOT use piercing "guns" as they are not hygienic and have poor accuracy. Piercing is available Thursday  through Saturday from 2pm-9pm.
